I have been fortunate to be of help to a number of business demographics. I have also enjoyed getting to know how each of these businesses function, how each of them deal with situations. Getting to know the challenges that each business demographic needs to master and seeing what each business can adapt to new technologies and ideas.
One of the business demographics that we love to work with is daycares. Specifically, For-Profit Centres. Being that centres like this offer a great service to our communities, we feel that we are helping not only the business with their needs but also helping the community at the same time. The owners or directors are usually lovely people that want to provide the best service they can to the families that frequent their centres. They spend a significant amount of time working with the local governments for subsidization of children in their centres, and they focus on continuously educating not only themselves, but encouraging their staff to do the same.
Why is this important? It’s for the children and the level of care and stimulation that they can offer to these young people.
We have noticed that this caring can create an obstacle in the functioning of the business. Particularly when it comes to payment of account for the parents. We have found that in some situations, a heavily weighted accounts receivable is the end result.
Recently, we have had a daycare client approach us to help them increase their cash flow, and to help them increase their profitability using cloud-based technology. As this can be a complex task, we needed to sit down and look at all the moving parts that would encompass the migration.
By using a program called IMindMap, we were able to visually map out where they currently are, what steps needed to be taken to automate both collection of payments from customers, and payment of bills for vendors. We mapped out automating payroll, and now we are on to the next step: Mapping the signing in and out of children by the parents.
In short, there are a lot of moving parts. Each one is important to the evolution that needs to be taken. We are excited to be taking this amazing journey and we are going to take you, our reader, along for the ride.
Perhaps you see yourself or your business in the steps that we document. You might find that you want further information on how we integrate each function into the eco-system that becomes the back-office for this daycare. And of course, because of this, we look forward to any questions or comments you may have as we partake down this road.
It’s time to start the implementation, and in our next segment, we will update you on the implementation and automation for payment of the accounts receivable.
